Thinking about an SEO website audit?

Thinking about an SEO website audit?

Have you ever received an offer for a free website audit and wondered what the heck it was all about?

Or, have you ever wondered just how consumers are finding your website online and once they arrive there what the chances might be of them converting to a new customer?

Have you simply just wondered how visible your website is on Google?

If so, then read on...

So just what is an SEO website audit?

An SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) audit is offered by many digital marketers as a way of examining how your website is optimised for search. It's a measure of your website's search engine friendliness

And make no mistake - it can offer valuable insights into your online presenceif done right!

What type of issues can an audit uncover?

You would be surprised how many major ranking and conversion issues are easily identified during an audit. These issues often go unnoticed by business owners who sometimes believe that just having a website on the internet is enough.

In many cases I've seen websites that are actually creating a wall between a business and their potential new customers! It's only after an audit that these issues become blindingly obvious to the now frustrated business owner.

Which issues are most common?

Here are a list of the 10 most common issues I come across when conducting my audits. This abbreviated list includes issues I might find in both an automated and manual audit.

1) No .xml sitemaps

2) Sites not being https compliant

3) Slow site speeds

4) Sites that aren't mobile friendly

5) Sites with poor or no meta description

6) Poor content structure (not search friendly)

7) No alt tags on images

8) Bad User Experience (UX) due to poor navigation, design or layout

9) Lack of backlinks

10) Lack of a clear message

So then what?

We've identified these problems and now what do we do?

An SEO strategy or marketing plan is put in place to ensure the business achieves its desired outcomes and digital goals. Your search engine professional will prioritise each issue and then go about methodically resolving them. He or she will then continue to measure and monitor the effectiveness of each change and continue to optimise the site for search
